How Would We Train?
One of the best ways to build muscle and functional strength is to train with compound exercises. These are exercises that use more than one joint to create a movement. We do this for two reasons.
Firstly most sporting and everyday movements are compound movements; for example, a squat.
Secondly you burn more energy doing compound movements in your training. There is definitely a place in our training for isolated work but it just is a small component that can help with rehabilitation and reaching a good level of muscular stimulation.
Resistance training (weights) is really important in achieving good posture, strength increases but also fat loss through having your metabolism (energy output) increase.
Cardio training is something we can do to with a huge variety of training available from boxing to high repetition weights. Cardio equipment is another way of training but we can also focus on getting you back into sports and hobbies that get you active.
